HUBBARD TWP., Ohio - The demolition date of the Coalburg Lake Dam, located in Hubbard Township, has been pushed back for a second time.

The original demolition was originally set to begin in the summer of 2024, but was delayed to summer of 2026.

Hubbard Township Trustee Jason Tedrow told 21 News a consent decree was modified last November to extend the demolition date from 2026 to 2028.

Tedrow said the board is exploring options to find a resolution for the dam, including any possibility of renovating it. However, he mentioned it is unknown how much those repairs would cost.

Additionally, Tedrow said the board hopes to preserve the Coalburg Lake Dam's history, and that whichever decision is made will be a cost-effective one.
