Ravenna schools to host 'Fill the Bus' food drive

RAVENNA, Ohio - The Ravenna Education Association (REA) is inviting everyone in the community to participate in its 'Fill the Bus' food drive taking place next week.
It will kick off on Monday, February 16, and will conclude on Friday, February 27.
Accepted items include nonperishable foods such as canned goods, boxed meals, cereal, peanut butter, canned and dried soups, etc. Monetary donations are also accepted.
Donations can be dropped off at any Ravenna School District building, including Willyard Elementary, Brown Middle, and Ravenna High School, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
The food drive aims to address food insecurity for Ravenna school students and surrounding individuals and families in need.
"This 'Fill the Bus' food drive is a way we can extend our care beyond the classroom for our students. We look forward to partnering with our community to come together and making a real difference for local kids and their families," said Mallory Edwards, vice president of the Ravenna Education Association.
All donations collected throughout the food drive will benefit The Center of Hope, a nonprofit organization based in Ravenna that provides daily meals and a food pantry for the community.
To conclude the drive, a donation ceremony is scheduled for Friday, February 27, at The Center of Hope, located at 1081 West Main Street in Ravenna.
