SANDY LAKE TWP., Pa. - State Police in Mercer County are searching for a suspect who used a stolen online account to buy more than $1,300 in electronics.

Police investigated a theft report on Monday evening in Sandy Lake Township. Investigators said someone gained access to a 50-year-old woman's PayPal account.

The suspect used the account to order two PlayStation 5 consoles, totaling $1,322.88. The items were picked up at the curb from Walmart in Grove City.

Police believe the suspect was driving a newer model, red Chrysler Pacifica.

To prevent similar theft, PayPal recommends enabling two-step verification, which requires a unique code in addition to a password to log in. Security experts also suggest using a unique password for financial accounts that is not used on any other website. Users should regularly review their account activity and set up instant notifications for all mobile purchases to quickly identify unauthorized charges.

Anyone with information about the red minivan or the purchase is asked to contact the Pennsylvania State Police Mercer station at 724-748-0044.
