A master's program offered at Youngstown State University (YSU) has received a fourth-place designation of online public policy programs throughout the state, according to the Public Administration & Policy website.

The Master of Public Health (MPH) program offered at YSU, according to the curriculum description, is a part of the Consortium of Eastern Ohio Master of Public Health (CEOCMPH), which is a multidisciplinary, interdepartmental and interinstitutional program.

The MPH program is available through distance learning through YSU, or by taking elective courses at any partner university.

The following university programs ranked in places first through third, according to the list outlined by the Public Administration & Policy website:

  1. Ohio State University's Master of Arts in Public Policy and Management
  2. Ohio University's Master of Public Administration (Public Leadership and Management)
  3. University of Akron's Master of Applied Politics

Public Administration & Policy outlines in a "methodology" page that its rankings consider factors such as curriculum, faculty and student support, alongside acceptance and completion rates, program costs, accreditation status and various other attributes.

One feature of the MPH program offered at YSU that the ranking highlights is the "4+1 Bachelor of Science in Applied Science/Master of Public Health Program."

Through this program, students who complete their bachelor's degree have the chance to apply for the accelerated master's program. Students in this accelerated course could earn the MPH degree in one year.

You can learn more information about the MPH program on the YSU website.
