MAHONING COUNTY, Ohio -
The Mahoning County Extension of Ohio State University has announced the return of its Naturalist Series. The series hosts monthly educational speakers to connect the community with Ohio's natural history, wildlife, and environmental resources.
Sessions will take place at the Mahoning County Extension office in Canfield on the third Wednesday of each month, from February to October, at 6:30pm. Individual sessions are $5 and $30 for the entire series.
The Naturalist Series invites residents of all ages to learn and explore nature-based topics led by knowledgeable local experts. Organizers say the aim of the series is to bring research-based education and programming to communities across Ohio.
Topics this year include Ohio's iron ore history, animal skull identification, aquatic ecosystems and prehistoric tools.
