A strengthening area of low pressure will slowly meander through the Great Lakes region on Friday. The overnight rain associated with a surge of April-like air ahead of the system will be largely gone by daybreak Friday. We expect the sun to come out Friday morning and temperatures rill rise quickly through the 50s.  However, a strong cold front is set to cross the area by early afternoon. As the front pushes into eastern Ohio, the wind will pick up; gusts to 45 mph will be quite possible from midday into the afternoon. A passing afternoon shower will also be a possibility.

The air will be cold enough to support a few snow flurries Friday night, especially early on. A calmer but colder day is in the forecast for Saturday.

An overcast, brisk and cold day is on tap for Sunday, and snow showers will be around at times. An accumulation of up to an inch or so, mainly on non-paved surfaces, will be a possibility.  With snowflakes continuing to fly at times Sunday night, some untreated surfaces may become slippery. Flurries and cold, gusty winds will continue into Monday.  Temperatures will moderate during the last few days of February.
