Community honors Warren councilman set to resign, relocate to NYC

WARREN - Second Baptist Church in Warren honored Pastor Todd Johnson on Thursday, as he prepares to head to his new church in New York City.
Johnson has been a pastor at the Second Baptist church for the last 13 years, and is also Warren's First Ward City Councilman.
Members of the community gathered to wish him well and thank him for his support and leadership.
"I want to thank you for your commitment and guidance. Thank you for never letting us walk alone. Because of you, many of us didn't just grow in faith, but we grew in purpose," said Mariah McCorkle, Ongoing Neighborhood Empowerment Director.
Johnson will be taking over as minister at the New Jerusalem Worship Center in Jamaica, New York.
Johnson told 21 News previously that he will not be leaving his position with the city until he formally leaves his role at Second Baptist Church and officially relocates with his family.
