EAST LACKAWANNOCK TOWNSHIP. Pa. - A pedestrian has died following a crash on I-80 in Mercer County on Thursday evening.

The crash happened just after 6:30 p.m. on I-80 Eastbound in East Lackawannock Township.

A crash report from PSP states that 58-year-old Gregory Booty of Vienna Township's vehicle was disabled on the shoulder of the roadway around mile marker 15. Booty was struck by a 2025 Chevrolet Silverado driven by 26-year-old Wesley Rose of Franklin, Pennsylvania.

According to a report from the Mercer County Coroner's Office, Booty was struck after he left his disabled vehicle and walked towards the median.  He was pronounced dead on the scene at 7:30 p.m.

Rose was not injured, according to the crash report, but his vehicle did sustain disabling damage following the incident.

The Mercer County Coroner's Office has ruled Booty's death accidental as a result of multiple blunt force trauma.

There is no word yet on whether Rose will face any charges.

The crash caused the eastbound lanes to close near exit 4. The lanes reopened around 11 p.m. Thursday, according to dispatchers.
