YOUNGSTOWN - A Youngstown man who pled guilty in November to robbing a postal worker learned his fate on Thursday.

According to federal court documents, 39-year-old Joseph Grove was sentenced to three years in prison, followed by three years of probation on one count of robbery.

The charges stem from an incident in March of 2024, in which Grove approached a postal worker near the intersection of Rush Boulevard and Hilton Street, showed him a gun tucked in his waistband and said, "Don't die for a key, bro," and "If you try anything, you're dead."

The postal worker handed Grove his "arrow key," which is a special key used to unlock collection mailboxes nationwide.

Grove was federally indicted for the crime in August of 2024.
