PITTSBURGH, Pa - A federal jury has returned a verdict in the case of a Masury man involved in a fraud scheme against a healthcare network out of Sharon.

John O'Brien was found guilty of three counts of wire fraud in connection with a $2 million fraud scheme against Primary Health Network (PHN), a nonprofit healthcare organization headquartered in Sharon.

No sentencing date has been set yet, but O'Brien can face up to 20 years in prison, a fine of up to $250,000 or both on each count.

The scheme involved O'Brien and four other defendants sending bills to PHN for construction work that was never finished through a company called TopCoat. O'Brien was the only defendant in this case who went to trial rather than plead guilty.

The other defendants included Drew Pierce of West Middlesex, John Laeng of Lake Milton, Mark Marriott of Sharpsville and Christopher O'Brien of Masury.
