The Western Reserve Transit Authority (WRTA) announced in a news release on Friday, February 20, 2026, that new branding will be implemented beginning on Monday.

Pictured above, the new logo features "WRTA" with a green bus outline behind it and a green arrow inside the 'A' pointing to the left.

According to the release, the green arrow symbolizes "forward motion toward economic development and equality."

The WRTA will begin implementing changes to social media and marketing on Monday, with further changes beginning later in the year.

"Our new look and positioning is a promise to the Mahoning Valley," said Dean Harris, Chief Executive Officer of WRTA.

Harris continued," When we say we are 'Going Your Way,' we mean we are aligned with the personal and financial goals of our riders. Whether that goal is keeping a steady job, attending a medical appointment or simply having more money for groceries, WRTA is the vehicle that gets them there -at zero cost to the rider."

In 2020, WRTA discontinued fares for riders in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic. WRTA has since continued the policy of free fares for riders.

The release states that the implementation of free fares saves the roughly 3,500 regular riders about $750 annually.

"Every time a passenger boards a WRTA bus for free, they are taking a step toward financial stability. The arrow in our new logo points toward the future of the Mahoning Valley - a future where mobility is a right, and where we are always going your way," Harris added.

A spokesperson for the WRTA stated that the changes would begin on Monday with social media pages, marketing and advertising.

However, the signage of the Downtown Youngstown station will change at some point within the next six weeks. Branding on the buses is expected to be implemented towards the end of 2026 or early 2027.

That spokesperson also mentioned that the WRTA would be looking to acquire fully electric buses in that same timeframe. Those buses would feature the new branding and a new color scheme.

In January of 2025, the WRTA secured a $1.8 million grant to replace two of its diesel buses with electric vehicles.
