Two area high schools took home championship titles after a weekend of competition at the Ohio Association of Secondary School Administrators (OASSA) State Championship.
On Saturday, Feb. 21, the Jackson-Milton Blue Jays performed their game day routine and were crowned state champions at Big Walnut High School in Columbus.
Coaches Holly Sokol and Chloe Derrow lead the program.
Girard also competed at the state championship, earning first place in the non-mount division and second place in game day.
The weekend-long event featured hundreds of teams from schools across multiple divisions competing in Sunbury and Dublin.
The Blue Jays also took third out of nine teams in the traditional category during a Friday event.
