VIENNA TWP., Ohio - Former Vienna Township Fiscal Officer Linda McCullough appealed her conviction at a court hearing on Tuesday.

The 56-year-old is serving an eight-year sentence in prison for charges including theft in office, telecommunications fraud and tampering with records. Along with the prison sentence, McCullough is required to pay the township more than $120,000 and $11,000 to the state auditor's office.

The charges stem from misappropriated taxpayer funds that McCullough spent on credit card payments for personal expenses.

McCullough's attorney says the trial court failed to make findings for imposing consecutive sentences under Ohio law.

However, Trumbull County Prosecutors say the court made the necessary findings for the sentences.

Judges with the 11th District took the case under advisement and said a decision is pending.
