NEWTON FALLS, Ohio - The total sum of treasure to find in the upcoming treasure hunt event in the Village of Newton Falls has increased once again.

Earlier in February, it was announced that the total sum of treasure surpassed $15,000, with a chance to grow for the one winner who could claim the prize. Now, the total sum of treasure has surpassed $25,000, making it the largest organized treasure hunt prize the area has ever seen.

Currently, the prize chest contains a collection of cash, gold coins, silver coins and jewelry, and continues to grow as even more sponsors join in on the effort.

The hunt, which is hosted by Fieldview Acres Mercantile, will kick off Tuesday, March 3 at noon. Clues will be published every two weeks on Fieldview Acres's Facebook, Instagram and TikTok pages, as well as at the store itself at 36 West Broad Street in Newton Falls.

The clues are historically layered and will require research, observation and patience. The hunt is designed to unfold gradually over the course of several months. The hunt is free and open to the public.
