The Village of McDonald is asking residents to share their thoughts on a proposed trail improvement project, as they prepare to apply for funding through the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Recreational Trails Program.

Village leaders plan to seek grant support to enhance and restore trail amenities at Woodland Park and throughout the Village's trail network. The project would restore over 3,000 feet of trails and improve access for walkers.

Improvements would also focus on increasing safety along the Village's cross-country course, benefiting not only student-athletes but also encouraging year-round use.

Officials are accepting public comments from February 27 through March 14. Feedback gathered will help shape the final grant application, ensuring it reflects community priorities.

Residents can provide input by speaking during a Village Council Meeting, emailing comments to villageofmcdonaldgrants@gmail.com, or calling the Village at 330-530-5472.

Village officials say they look forward to collaborating with the community to strengthen local recreation opportunities and improve the trail experience for all residents and visitors.
