On Friday, McKinley Elementary third graders participated in the school’s annual living wax museum by dressing up as historical inventors.

Beth Devine, third-grade teacher, said the teachers decided to do only inventors this year in an attempt to inspire the students.

“We chose to do all inventors, and they learned about what an inventor is, and how they come up with their ideas to make inventions, and that they could actually be an inventor too, which is kind of why we chose just inventors,” Devine said.

The students took the project into their own hands by researching their inventor, writing a speech, and then performing it during the event.

“The whole school comes in to see them, so they have seen the third graders do the wax museum, fourth graders, fifth graders come, and they remember their speeches from when they were in third grade, so, yeah, it’s really exciting for them," Devine said.
