Trumbull County seeking comments for traffic signal changes by April 1

The Trumbull County Engineer's Office and the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) are looking to make changes to existing traffic lights in Trumbull County, including in Howland, Bazetta, Warren, Brookfield and Weathersfield Townships.
Trumbull County Engineer David DeChristofaro and ODOT are proposing to replace and remove traffic signals throughout the county.
TRAFFIC SIGNALS TO BE REPLACED:
- Warren-Sharon Road and Bedford Road SE
- N River Road and N Park Ave
- N River Road and Larchmont Ave NE
- Salt Springs Road and Niles Carver Road
- Salt Springs Road and W Liberty Street
- Salt Springs Road and Ohio Machinery Boulevard (Petro Travel Center drive entrance)
SIGNALS TO BE REMOVED AND 4-WAY STOPS
- Warren-Sharon Road and Yankee Run Road/Brookfield Ave
- Larchmont Ave NE and the eastbound State Route 5 entrance/exit ramp
- Larchmont Ave NE and the westbound State Route 5 entrance/exit ramp
- Larchmont Ave NE and the 7 17 Credit Union drive entrance
- N River Road NE and the Aptiv parking lot drive entrance
- Salt Springs Road and the Petro Travel Center truck lot drive entrance
Following the conclusion of the comment period, the following lights will be put on flash mode:
- Larchmont Ave NE and the eastbound State Route 5 entrance/exit ramp
- Larchmont Ave NE and the westbound State Route 5 entrance/exit ramp
- Larchmont Ave NE and the 7 17 Credit Union drive entrance
The $1,500,000 project is expected to begin in the summer of 2027 and will be completed in the fall of 2028.
Road closures and detours are not proposed to construct the project. During the project, temporary lane restrictions and/or short-term stoppages may be necessary. All necessary signage will be posted within the project construction limits and all intersecting side roads. Access to all adjacent properties will be maintained throughout construction.
