Fire burns Trumbull County home to the ground
BURGHILL, Ohio - Nearly a dozen fire departments were called to a fire that burned a home in Trumbull County to the ground on Tuesday morning.
A Trumbull County Dispatcher tells 21 News crews were called to a home on the 7200 block of Drake State Line Road just before 7:30 a.m. Tuesday for a house said to be fully engulfed in flames.
The dispatcher says part of the structure collapsed just before 7:50 a.m. and that Ohio Edison was called to the scene due to downed wires in the area.
Ultimately, the home burned completely to the ground and was deemed a total loss.
Departments called to the scene include Brookfield Township, Orangeville, Fowler Township, Burghill Vernon, Bloomfield Township, the Youngstown Air Reserve Station, Kinsman, Vienna Township, Johnston Township, Wayne Township and Orwell.
Brookfield Township Fire Chief David Masirovits tells 21 News that crews had a tough time getting to the scene due to ice on the roadway. Additionally, a tanker shuttle was called from Mercer County to assist due to a lack of water in the area.
No one was home at the time of the fire, and no injuries were reported at the scene.
