Boardman's Kirlik heading to West Liberty University for baseball

Boardman's Tyler Kirlik will continue his academic and athletic career at West Liberty University, where he plans to major in Environmental Stewardship, following an outstanding high school baseball career.
A three-year letter winner, Kirlik made an immediate impact on the Spartan baseball program, earning a starting role on junior varsity as a freshman before quickly advancing to varsity. Since then, he has been a consistent presence in the middle of the lineup, in the infield, and on the mound.
Over the past two varsity seasons, Kirlik has compiled a .336 batting average with a .467 on-base percentage, along with 24 runs scored and 18 RBIs. On the mound, he owns a career 2.19 ERA with five wins and 61 strikeouts. His accomplishments include First Team All-All-American Conference and All-District honors.
