GIRARD - A stretch of a highly-traveled roadway in Girard has reopened following a water break on Friday afternoon.

The water break was reported in front of Dairy Queen on Route 422 in Girard.

During the repair work, the north lane of Route 422 was closed just before the Dairy Queen.

Mark Ragozine, Girard's Safety Service Director, said crews completed repairs around 6:00 p.m. Friday, and the roadways reopened.

Ragozine added that water to nearby residences or businesses was maintained throughout the repairs, and no boil alert was needed.
