Mahoning Valley Task Force awarded by U.S Department of Justice

YOUNGSTOWN - Members of the Mahoning Valley Law Enforcement Task Force were honored on Thursday by the U.S. Department of Justice for their work combating drug trafficking in the region.
Mahoning County Sheriff Jerry Greene recognized Sergeant Larry McLaughlin, the Commander of the Task Force, and members of the Task Force after the group received the 2025 Partnership of the Year award for the Youngstown region during a ceremony.
U.S. Attorney Dave Toepfer nominated the Task Force for its collaboration with the federal agents, including Homeland Security, in a case that led to the arrest and conviction of Rayshawn Hall of Youngstown.
Hall was found guilty of drug trafficking and was sentenced to 23 years in prison in September of 2025.
"The Mahoning County Sheriff's Office is a key partner in our efforts to protect the public. Under the leadership of Sheriff Greene, his deputies and task force officers work shoulder-to-shoulder with federal agents every day and play critical roles in bringing the worst offenders to justice," said Teopfer.
