WARREN - Police in Warren are investigating after a woman was allegedly forced out of a car at gunpoint and then beaten.

According to a police report, police were called to the 500 block of Belvedere Avenue just before 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, March 8.

When officers arrived, they spoke to a woman who told them that she and her cousin were drinking at a bar when a suspect showed up and started following them around.

Police say the two eventually left for a different bar, and the suspect followed them in a black Buick sedan.

After the group left the second bar, the woman told police she dropped one of her friends off, and the vehicle started following her again until she turned onto Belvedere.

That's when police say the vehicle went in front of the alleged victim's vehicle and stopped. From there, police say a suspect came up to her vehicle with a gun and ordered her cousin out of the vehicle at gunpoint.

Police say once the alleged victim got out, the suspect started beating her with a pistol and punching her before going back to the Buick, parking it on the side of the road and coming back to beat the alleged victim again.

From there, police say the suspect dragged the alleged victim back into her vehicle by her hair and fled the scene, leaving the Buick behind. The Buick has since been towed away.

The woman who called police told officers this suspect lives in Youngstown, and she's afraid something might happen to her cousin.

At this time, no arrests have been made, and no charges appear to have been filed.
