'Generational Austintown' mural unveiled at senior center

Students from Austintown Fitch High School were at the Austintown Community Center on Tuesday, unveiling a new mural that was installed on one of the walls in the facility.
The new "Generational Austintown" mural features a collage of different township landmarks, pictured above.
Some of those landmarks featured include the Austintown Library, the former Austintown Fitch High School and the 9/11 Memorial Park.
"After doing some research, finding some old photos [and] some of the things that we thought that the residents would like, we... put together a collage that we thought they'd like," said Payton Buchan, a student in the school's art program.
Buchan continued," It looks a lot better on a wall than on our computer screens, so I'm glad it turned out."
Delaney Lippillo, another student in the art program, shared her thoughts on the project.
"It's so amazing to have the opportunity to do something... to give back to the community," said Lippillo.
The creation of the mural was sponsored by the Austintown Junior Women's League, with the design aspect being done by the school's art department.
