Vehicle fire causes adjusted trash collection times for several Columbiana County residents

EAST PALESTINE - A fire involving a vehicle belonging to a waste management company could affect residents' trash pickup time in several Columbiana County communities.
According to a Facebook post from East Palestine-based waste management company CSI Environmental, a vehicle fire was reported at the company's shop on Kemple Drive late Tuesday night.
The exact cause of the fire is unclear, but an employee at CSI Environmental tells 21 News the fire affected three trucks out of the company's five and all three are believed to be a total loss. The company is currently working on replacing the trucks.
The company says it is working to make sure all of its customers are served, but trash pickup times could be different than usual until the issue is resolved. There is no time frame for when that might be.
Residents are asked to make sure their trash cans are out the night before their scheduled service day.
CSI Environmental serves several Columbiana County communities, including East Palestine, Columbiana City, New Waterford, Rogers, Negley, Fairfield Township, Leetonia and Elkton Township.
