'Fill Carts, Fill Hearts' food drive starts Friday in Mercer County
The Mercer County Food Bank (MCFB) is asking community members to donate grocery items during the weekend of March 13, 2026, in honor of Good Samaritan’s Day.

The Mercer County Food Bank (MCFB) is asking community members to donate grocery items during the weekend of March 13, 2026, in honor of Good Samaritan’s Day.
The "Fill Carts, Fill Hearts" food drive takes place throughout the weekend until March 15. Shoppers can donate items at the following locations:
- D'Onofrio's Food Center, 1749 North Hermitage Road in Hermitage
- Giant Eagle, 2365 East State Street in Hermitage
- County Market, 49 Pine Grove Square in Grove City
- Walmart, 1566 West Main Street Extension in Grove City
- Walmart, 45 Williamson Road in Greenville
- Walmart, 1275 North Hermitage Road in Hermitage
The MCFB is requesting non-perishable items, including canned vegetables and fruit, soup, tuna, pasta, rice, cereal, and peanut butter and jelly.
Non-food items are also accepted, including detergent, soap, shampoo, toothpaste, toilet paper and diapers.
Residents can also donate to the food bank by scanning the QR code at the donation sites. Monetary donations will help keep the MCFB supporting local families battling food insecurity within the community.
