Five area wrestlers advance to state championship
The OHSAA state wrestling tournament continued today in Columbus with the semifinals.
Five area wrestlers won and have advanced for a shot at a state title tomorrow evening.
In the girls 125 lbs. weight class, Paige Cowan from East Liverpool will look to capture a state title. Also, in the 170 lbs. weight class Reghan Koch from Austintown Fitch.
On the boy's side, three wrestlers will compete for a state title.
In Division II, Beau Nezbeth (pictured) will have a title match in the 150 lbs. weight class. Meanwhile, Jake Huges in the 157 lbs. weight class from Beaver Local.
In Division III, South Range's Tyson Seesholtz (pictured) will also wrestle for a state championship in the 165 lbs. weight class.
All of the girl's and boy's first place matches will begin tomorrow at 5:15 pm.
