Sharpsville woman who owes over $70K in multiple restitution cases misses court date

Erin Carter of Sharpsville, Pennsylvania missed her delinquency hearing in Mercer County Court Wednesday. The court appearance is in connection to a nonpayment of a 2010 court ordered repayment of $27,956.
Carter pled guilty to charges of theft by deception in 2010. On the 2010 case alone, Mercer County Court filed delinquency notices for Carter more than 25 times.
Carter is noted to have made a partial payment on Tuesday of $104 . After that payment, Carter still owes $17,810.28 on that case.
The Mercer County collections office told 21 News that, prior to this week, the last time Carter made a payment was October of 2025.
Carter, 45, has a criminal record in both Ohio and Pennsylvania, many of her cases involving restitution.
Carter accepted a plea deal on a separate case earlier this month on the charge of theft by unlawful taking. The deal included seven years of probation and full restitution, including court fees, totaling $52,427.11.This case stems from allegations that she stole 107 checks from Edgewood Surgical Center in Transfer, Pennsylvania, where she worked as a payment processor.
According to Boardman Police, officials at the First National Bank (FNB) branch on Tippecanoe Road reported that Carter deposited the checks using an app, then withdrew $55,831 from the bank.
