Columbiana Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Zach King tells 21 News the great thing about the Harvey Awards is that it gives a spotlight to people who usually go under the radar.
"They silently work, they bring people together, they collaborate, they work countless hours to be able to serve their community, to serve their people, to grow their business and to contribute and give back. Being able to see them brought into the spotlight just for this time of year is spectacular because we want to honor and recognize what they do and we want to be able to have other people support them in that way," King said.
Additionally, the Youngstown-Warren Regional Chamber presented the Columbiana Chamber with a check for $30,000 at the ceremony to support their work. This is part of a partnership between the two organizations.
"What [this partnership] offers is a much larger regional staff, opportunity, recognition and understanding to be able to support our businesses in this community where now the executive director has the opportunity to get out from behind the desk, to be able to be in the community, to sit with the chamber members, to understand what are their goals, what are their aspirations, what are the hurdles they have in their way and how can we help them achieve those goals faster," King said.
