TRUMBULL COUNTY, OH - Junior at Bloomfield High School and Middle School, Ginger Yost was honored at the Trumbull County Art Show on Wednesday for her acrylic on canvas piece titled “Lights Out.”

Yost earned 2nd place in the painting category of the show, which was held at the Medici Museum of Art in Howland.

The accomplishment marks the first time in several years that Bloomfield students have participated in the county-wide art show. Ginger Yost and Raina Yost both submitted their artwork, with the encouragement of their art teacher, Miss Mazur.

The school said in a statement that the participation of the two students represents a “renewed commitment to expanding student opportunities in the arts.”

"We are incredibly proud of Ginger and Raina for representing Bloomfield so well," Principal Kevin Hogue said. "We also want to recognize Miss Mazur for going above and beyond to motivate and support our students. This is a great accomplishment and a proud moment for our art program."

Ginger’s award-winning painting was singled out by the judges for its “creativity and artistic execution”.
