The young man accused of shooting a friend in Poland says he's not guilty of her death.

Twenty-year-old Daniel Buccino was arraigned this morning in front of Judge James Lanzo.

He's charged with misdemeanor negligent homicide.

Buccino pleaded not guilty to charges that he accidentally shot 18-year-old Marissa Plakosh in the neck early Saturday morning.

Buccino's attorney says it is a tragic case, "The only comment I would have is that this situation gives new meaning to the word 'tragic'."

A trial date has not yet been set for the case. If convicted, Buccino could face less than a year jail time for the misdemeanor.
