3 teenage girls charged in home invasion
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Three teenage girls, two of them just 15-years-old, were arrested for a home invasion where authorities say they stole jewelry and cash while the 85-year-old victim was actually inside the home.
Sources tell 21 News that after the three teens were arrested by Youngstown police, they confessed to a total of four home invasions.
Now it will be up to the prosecutor at the Juvenile Justice Center to decide whether to move forward with those particular charges.
The most recent break-in and robbery was on Ivanhoe Avenue on the city's south side on Tuesday around 6:00 p.m.
One of the teenage suspects knocked on the front door of the elderly woman's home and somehow the other two teens allegedly broke in stealing jewelry, cash and coins from a bedroom.
The victim told police as she was standing at the front door when the two teenagers, who invaded her home, ran out of the home using the front door.
Concerned citizens saw what was going on and helped recover a bag of stolen evidence, and also helped identify the suspects for police.
