Tractor-trailer crashes into Hermitage grocery store

Posted: Updated:

HERMITAGE, Pa. - One woman is injured after a tractor truck crashed into D'Onofrio's Food Center on North Hermitage Road at 4:45 p.m. Wednesday.

Police tell 21 News a tractor trailer slipped out of gear and side swiped a vehicle before crashing into the grocery store.

A worker at D'Onofrio's tells 21 News that the injured woman complained of pain in her knees, but refused medical help.

Nancy Wingard, the office worker at D'Onofrio's says  the crash destroyed a door and one glass window.

"I thought it was electricity hitting something and I jumped out of my seat. I came running down ... and I see the nose of the truck right in the front of the store and I'm thinking 'oh my god'," says store manager Tom Falconi.

Crews are cleaning the damage at this time.
