YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - State Representative Bob Hagan calls the new state directive that shale drillers must make their toxic chemicals list public, a victory.
The Valley lawmaker says it's critical to protect the environment, public and first responders, but he believes more needs to be done.
"I think companies still can claim trade secrets. I still think that's part of the reason why we still have some distance to go. But I also think that we're moving in the right direction," says State Representative Bob Hagan (D)-Ohio.
Hagan says with chemicals being transported into Ohio, it's critical to know how to contain them if there's an emergency.
