Warren City Schools have formally accepted the resignation of a teacher suspected of, what the board calls, unprofessional conduct with a student.

The board voted 5-0 to accept the resignation of Warren Harding teacher, Amanda Basile.

Following the meeting, the superintendent and the board president both declined to comment on the matter.

According to a report filed with the Ohio Department of Education, the Warren City School District placed Basile on leave after the district claims she admitted to a Warren police detective that she engaged in sexual conduct with a male student.

Basile was placed on unpaid administrative leave on April 23rd.

The Warren Harding teacher resigned from her position on April 24th.

That resignation was formally accepted by the board, Tuesday night.

Basile has not been charged with any crime.21 News made several attempts to contact Basile, but they were unsuccessful.
