GIRARD, Ohio - A Girard, Ohio man is under arrest for rape and other alleged sex crimes committed against a child in Mercer County.

According to Girard Police, detectives along with members of the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Fugitive Task Force arrested 55-year-old William Casey Jr. Saturday afternoon.

Police say Casey was taken into custody without incident at the home of a relative on the 800 block of Ward Avenue.

Casey was arrested after the Pymatuning Township Police Department filed a criminal complaint against him.

He faces eleven charges including rape of child, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, statutory sexual assault of a child 11 years or older, aggravated indecent assault of a child, and indecent assault of a person less than 13 years of age.

According to court records, the alleged crimes were committed last December.

Eight of the charges are first degree felonies, the remaining three counts are misdemeanors.

Casey was taken to the Trumbull County Jail where he awaits extradition to Pennsylvania where he will be arraigned before a magistrate in Mercer County.
