Canfield names Mahoning County judge as city manager

The city of Canfield has named a Mahoning County judge as its next city manager.
Judge David D'Apolito, who currently serves as a judge for the Seventh Court of Appeals, has been named the next manager during a meeting held at 6 p.m. on Nov. 15.
According to his biography on the court website, D'Apolito received his Juris Doctorate from The University of Akron School of Law in 1989 and was admitted to the practice of law in Ohio that same year.
He was appointed as the first Mahoning County Court Magistrate in 1997.
He was first elected to the bench in 2000 as judge of Mahoning County Court #4 in Austintown, and he was reelected to that position in 2004, 2010 and 2016, while continuing to maintain his private practice.
The Boardman native's legal career also includes time spent as a hearing officer in Boardman Township, Special Counsel for the Ohio Attorney General, and as Prosecutor for New Middletown and Ashtabula County, according to his biography.
