Man wins over $50,000 on KENO drawing with ticket sold in Youngstown

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - A Youngstown man has received quite the payout while playing KENO with a ticket sold at a Youngstown store.
KENO is a draw game that gives players the opportunity to win every few minutes. Players choose between one through 10 numbers out of a pool of 80, then watch the drawing on TV monitors or on the Ohio Lottery app.
According to a press release, the winner, identified only as Jeff, usually only goes for the 4-spot but this time, he decided to go with the 8-spot plus the Booster, which won him $50,005.
After state and federal tax withholdings, which total 28%, Jeff will be taking home roughly $36,000.
Jeff says he didn't realize how much he had won until he went to cash in his ticket, which was sold at East Side Civics & Athletic Club in Youngstown.
"I thought I won $1,500 and when I drove to cash it out, I found out how much it was really worth," Jeff said.
As for how he will spend that money, Jeff says he plans to pay off some bills and get his race cars ready for racing.
