STRUTHERS, Ohio- The driver of a vehicle that struck and killed a Campbell business owner last month admitted to police that she had been sending a text message at the time of the crash, according to a preliminary report.

The report states that 19-year-old Whitney Yaeger told officers she had taken her eyes off the road for less than ten seconds when her car struck and killed 55-year-old Dave Muslovski as he walked to work on June 24.

Muslovski was the owner of Iron City Wood Products, which he had been preparing to retire from.

Muslovski's family has been working to gather support for a bill before the Ohio Senate that they believe would prevent similar accidents from occurring.

Ohio Senate Bill 164 would ban texting while driving, which is not specifically prohibited under Ohio law.
