Secret indictments handed down in chop shop operation
AUSTINTOWN, Ohio - Mahoning County authorities are making arrests in connection with a 23 count secret indictment involving what prosecutors are calling a chop shop operation.
The Mahoning Valley Violent Crimes Task force went to a home on Allendale Avenue in Austintown on Monday and arrested resident Cory Hilbert and 32-year-old Randall Hilbert also of Austintown. Both men were secretly indicted.
Twenty-four- year old Cory Hilbert faces charges that include receiving stolen property, altering vehicle identification numbers and corrupt activity. Thirty-two-year old Randall Hillbert faces charges which include receiving stolen property, tampering with vehicle identification numbers and possessing criminal tools.
Authorities expect to make at least one more arrest in the case.
