YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - A groundbreaking ceremony welcomes a new park to Youngstown's South Side.

City officials gathered at Glenwood Community Park on Glenwood Avenue, between Laclede and Sherwood avenues.

In May, city council voted to allow the board of control to spend $225,000 for park and recreation department equipment and items and work for the new park.

Up to $100,000 will go to a pavilion, fencing, sidewalks and to level seed and add topsoil.
