WEATHERSFIELD TWP., Ohio - Drivers along Interstate 80 encountered something else besides traffic in Weathersfield Township on New Year's Eve.

A car caught fire on 80 westbound, just before the Salt Springs Road exit shortly before 1:00 p.m.

When Weathersfield firefighters arrived, they reported that the vehicle was engulfed in flames.

There are no reports of injuries.

The westbound lanes were temporarily shut down so fire crews could stretch their hoses across the road.

One lane of traffic was open just before 1:30 p.m. Traffic continued to be backed up to State Route 11 for some time.
