YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - A Youngstown woman's car was damaged when bricks and cement fell from an apartment building on the city's south side.

Becky Shelton was surprised Tuesday to see debris surrounding her car parked next to the building on the 100 block of East Midlothian Boulevard.

“Just imagine if it would have been me getting into the car,” said Shelton.

The cement and bricks from the building left extensive damage to the car. The windshield was shattered. Side mirrors were broken. A brick took off a mirror and another brick fell through the roof and landed near a baby seat.

Shelton said she feels blessed to be alive and no one was killed.

Property maintenance told 21 News an insurance company has been called, but an adjuster has not been sent out.

Residents have been told the structure is safe, but to stay away from the left side of the apartment building. The area of debris has been taped off.
