HARRISBURG, Pa. - The city of New Castle's Commonwealth flag is at half-staff in honor of New Castle Police Detective Sergeant Brian Cuscino.

Detective Sergent Cuscino passed away Thursday during training while conducting mandatory physical training, which is a requirement for officers serving as members of the NCPD Special Response Team.

The Commonwealth flag will be at half-staff until interment and all Pennsylvanians are invited to participate.

Detective Cuscino had been with the New Castle Police Department since 2001, working as a patrol officer for 10 years before getting promoted to Detective in the Criminal Investigative Division.
