MCDONALD, Ohio - Volunteer Firefighters now have grants totaling $188,743 to help them better protect life and property in the village

Congressman Tim Ryan says the McDonald Volunteer Fire Department has received grants from the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Department of Homeland Security.

The $44,457 grant will be used for operations and safety.

A grant totaling $144,286 will go toward vehicle acquisition.

"The McDonald Volunteer Fire Department is extremely pleased to receive these grants which will help purchase much-needed equipment, " said Fire Chief Todd Stitt.
