Just five days before his 26th birthday, a Warren man is going on trial for allegedly beating his wife and holding her hostage for nearly two weeks.
The trial is getting underway in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court for Harold Travis, Jr. on charges of kidnapping, abduction, and felonious assault.
Members of the U.S. Marshals Violent Fugitive Task Force found Travis hiding in the attic of an Elm Road NE home back in February 2015, after his estranged wife told authorities that he had beaten her for several days.
The victim told investigators she managed to escape with her infant when Travis left the home.
