The chance of getting some of the six tons of meat being given away drew a crowd to the Warren Family Mission on Friday.

The line of people went around the building at 155 Tod Avenue NW for what is being called “Free Meat Friday”.

The mission has teamed up with the Second Harvest Foodbank to distribute 12,500 pounds of meat while supplies last.

The distribution began at 9:30 am at the mission.

The goal is to offer holiday relief for struggling families.

The mission has given out free milk, blueberries, and beans in past weeks.
