COLUMBIANA COUNTY, Ohio - In Crestview, voters passed a 2.84 mill construction project bond levy on Tuesday, paving the way for a new K-12 facility.

The passage of the levy ensures that Crestview Local Schools will be able to build a new K-12  energy efficient, state-of-the-art, technologically advanced, secure facility, according to a release from the district.

"Thank you for your support! We are grateful for your investment in the future of our students and their education," Superintendent Matthew Manley said in the release. "We are incredibly grateful that you value education as an essential component of a strong community and we saw that commitment in your vote today."

Crestview said it would start community meetings and would use its website and social media platforms to continue to update the community on the design and construction process as well as to notify them when they will be able to give input on the design.

The district also will work with the community to appoint two members of the community to the district building and grounds committee.

"We want the community to walk with us through this transparent process of collaboration. We together look forward to the day that we break ground and then proudly cut the ribbon to our future," Manley said.

The district adds it will "continue to monitor operating dollars with fiscal prudence, accountability, and transparency while moving forward to achieve the district's vision for the future."

In the release, Crestview thanked the Vision 2020 Bond Committee volunteers, specifically thanking the campaign chairperson and Crestview parent, Jason DeCenso, the executive committee members and volunteers.

They also gave thanks to the school board members, teachers, administrators and staff, parents, community members, students and donors who made the effort possible.
