Congressman Ryan announces $210,000 grant for Eastgate
According to the release, the CEDS will create partnerships and focus on workforce training and education, entrepreneurship, access to capital, infrastructure and site development, business climate and quality of life.

Congressman Tim Ryan announced on Thursday that Eastgate Regional Council of Governments will receive a grant from the U.S. Department of Commerce's Economic Development Administration.
The $210,000 grant will help Eastgate implement the district's Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS).
According to the release, the CEDS will create partnerships and focus on workforce training and education, entrepreneurship, access to capital, infrastructure and site development, business climate and quality of life.
The funding also allows Eastgate to offer technical assistance to communities and organizations looking to receive federal funding.
"This grant is a key example of what work can be done when the public and private sector come together to enhance the economic well-being of the community. Investments, such as this, mutually benefit all parties involved and we should encourage more of these partnerships in the future," said Congressman Ryan. "Eastgate understands the value of partnerships as they are working closely with local economic development organizations like the Port Authority and Chamber as well as representatives from philanthropy. This grant allows us to continue to align efforts to create a favorable environment for both business development and a pathway to prosperity for residents of Mahoning, Trumbull, and Ashtabula Counties. Together, we can build upon our past successes and continue the economic resurgence in our region."
