Hubbard Elementary student awaiting organ transplant passes away

HUBBARD, Ohio - A Hubbard Elementary third grade student has passed away following a long battle with an illness.
9-year-old Memphis Vance passed away Thursday.
Vance battled a disease called billary atresia, a rare disease of the liver.
As a baby Vance had a liver transplant and was awaiting a second before his passing.
Hubbard Elementary students came together with "Pennies for Memphis" where students brought change to donate to Vance's family.
Hubbard students raised more than $9,000 for the family.
Calling hours are scheduled for Sunday, June 23 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Stewart-Kyle Funeral Home.
The family asks that memorial contributions be made to the family for medical expenses in lieu of flowers.
