CANFIELD, Ohio - A groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for Tuesday morning at the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center.

According to the release, the groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for 11 am on their new $1.1 million Fire Tower and Training Facility.

The facility has multiple uses with a three-story fire tower, classrooms, a station and garage for storage of the school's fire engine and a place for student gear.

Students using the facility will be able to practice putting out fires and will help local fire departments that use the facility.

It will also give firefighters the space to train with live burns, search and rescue missions and other exercises.

The fire tower is expected to be finished in January.
